Cauldron
Sacred to the Goddess. Element of Water and the west. The cauldron-traditionally with three legs- represents bounty and blessings and fertility. The cauldron is often a focal point of ritual. A very versatile tool with many functions it can be used as a decorative item filled with fresh water and flowers, to burn in, to scry in when filled with water and in some areas it has replace the bonfire in that it is used for "jumping" or leaping where a bonfire is not able to be used. There are still others who use it when making certain herbal remedies and even by some "kitchen witches" as a cooking tool or to "brew" herbal remedies or other magickal lotions, balms, etc.. In some Celtic Traditions, it is associated with otherworldly figures such as Bran the Blessed and the Goddess Cerridwen. Based on these myths, the cauldron has also come to represent the concept of reincarnation and the cycles of birth, death and rebirth.

Crystal Sphere
Sacred to the Goddess Usually a genuine quartz crystal on a stand.
Sometimes placed on the altar to represent the Goddess. May be used to receive messages, scrying or to store energy raised in ritual. Periodic exposure to moonlight will increase its ability to spark our psychic powers. lick here to add text.
Cords
Ribbons, cord, thread or string that are used for ritual purposes and, in some cases, around a person's waist to denote their level of study.
Chalice/Cup/Goblet
Sacred to the Goddess. Element of Water and the direction west. It is used to hold the wine for wine blessing and cakes and ale. May be of any shape, size or composition. While there are many beautiful pewter cups available they contain lead and can be dangerous to drink from. The chalice holds water, cider, juices or wine, but is occasionally used empty.
Censer/Thuribile
Sacred to the God. Element of Air and the direction of East in most traditions but also used to represent Fire and the South in others. The censer is an incense burner that is used for either burning incense or, sometimes, small pieces of paper if a cauldron or fire are not available. It is generally placed upon the altar during rituals and spells and you may have a second one at the point where your element is being represented. Also may be used during meditations. Certain scents may be used for specific purpose. The censer may be of any non-flammable material ranging from metal to ceramic to seashells. Be sure to fill the bottom of the censer with clean sand if you are burning with a charcoal and loose incense, resins or herbs in order to displace the heat that the charcoal will generate and to make it easier to clean especially when burning resins. You may wish to place a trivet, etc., under the censer as well in order not to damage altar clothes or the altar itself.
Candles
Candles are associated with Fire and Air, and are used for everything from lighting the altar, representing deity, representing the quarters to specific spell working or candle magick.
